EEE Projects in Punjab

EEE projects in Punjab built around power electronics, drives, renewable energy and control, with simulation and hardware guidance from SAS Nagar (Mohali).

Electrical and electronics engineering sits where power meets control. The strongest EEE projects show both: a converter or machine, plus the feedback that makes it behave. This page lays out project tracks for EEE students across Punjab, with guidance delivered from Mohali. If your focus is plain electrical systems, our electrical project page takes that angle.

Track 1: Power electronics converters

Buck, boost and buck-boost converters, bidirectional DC-DC converters for batteries, single-phase and three-phase SPWM inverters, and rectifiers with power factor correction. Typical hardware uses MOSFETs or IGBTs with gate drivers such as IR2110 and microcontroller PWM, with sensing of current and voltage for closed-loop control. Concepts include duty cycle, ripple, inductor sizing and dead time.

Track 2: Solar and renewable systems

PV array modelling, perturb-and-observe and incremental conductance MPPT, charge controllers for lead-acid and lithium batteries, grid-tied inverter concepts and small wind or hybrid systems. Simulation in MATLAB and Simulink is natural here; our MATLAB power electronics projects page explains the approach.

Track 3: Drives and machines

V/f control of induction motors, BLDC speed control with Hall sensors, field-oriented control concepts, stepper control and regenerative braking. Typical studies compare open-loop with PID or fuzzy control.

Track 4: Electric vehicles and storage

Battery management with cell balancing and state-of-charge estimation, on-board charger topologies, a small e-vehicle motor controller and supercapacitor assisted systems.

Track 5: Smart grid and monitoring

IoT-based energy meters, demand response logic, microgrid simulation and fault detection, linking to IoT concepts and PLC automation.

Typical workflow

We usually recommend simulating first to validate topology and control, then building a scaled-down hardware prototype, then comparing simulated and measured waveforms. This comparison is what examiners tend to value. Safety is important: low-voltage prototypes, proper fusing and isolation are expected.

Tools

MATLAB and Simulink with Simscape Electrical, PSIM or LTspice for circuit simulation, Arduino, STM32 or DSP-class controllers for firmware, and oscilloscopes for measurement. Availability of each is confirmed per project.

Your role

We provide technical tutoring and implementation support. You should understand the design equations and the results, write your own report and follow your university's rules on submissions. No outcome in marks or acceptance can be promised.

Frequently asked questions

Some institutions accept simulation-only work, others expect hardware. Check your guide's requirement; we can support either or both.

Yes, topics like BMS and motor controllers are feasible at prototype scale, subject to components and your institution's scope.

Work is delivered from Mohali; remote support or visits can be discussed on enquiry.

No. We provide technical guidance only, and results depend on your own work and your institution.
